Look Back at International Women’s Day (Month) at Disneyland Paris in 2024

Every year, Disneyland Paris celebrates International Women’s Day with special experiences and events available for guests, Cast Members and community partners all month long. It is a moment to pause and recognize the many ways that women contribute to making the magic happen across the resort year-round, as well as an opportunity to exchange with each other about important topics like gender equality. Let’s take a look back at this month!

Exclusive Cast Life Events

This year, Disneyland Paris hosted a full week of conferences and workshops rotating across the resort in key backstage locations for Cast Members to engage with each other and learn skills to promote gender equality and benefit from professional and personal growth.

The week ended with a private event in Disneyland Park to welcome conductor Zahia Ziouani and her Divertimento Symphony Orchestra for a musical performance and conference hosted by Disneyland Paris Présidente Natacha Rafalski that addressed themes including gender equality, recruitment and professional growth.

Minnie Mouse and Marvel’s Female Super Heroes

Minnie Mouse is once again greeting guests in a unique floral display in front of Disneyland Hotel and the entrance to Disneyland Park all month long. Guests also have the chance to experience the Women of Marvel exhibition at Disney Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel, returning for the second year with artwork of female Marvel characters created by female Marvel artists. The exhibition will remain in Jack Kirby gallery until late June, extending the celebration for all resort guests. Some invited guests and fans also enjoyed Zahia Ziouani’s performance at Disneyland Park.

Engaging with Our Community

This month, Disneyland Paris held a solidarity day in the parks for 120 women and children from four local associations, including CARED Meaux and ARILe which each focus on supporting professional integration for women. The resort also continued its longstanding partnership with the EPIDE association which supports the employment of young professionals, welcoming 25 young women to take part in the special event with Zahia Ziouani.

In addition, Disneyland Paris recently signed a new charter with Elles Bougent, a non-profit association focused on inspiring women to pursue careers with a scientific focus. In the coming months, select female Cast Members will become mentors to share their experiences with those considering STEM careers at job fairs and other events, in turn hoping to attract more talent into similar roles across the resort.

Gender Equality Index Returns

At the beginning of the month, Disneyland Paris confirmed that it once again earned a score of 99/100 on the annual Gender Equality Index, representing a significant commitment to professional equality among men and women. Today, women represent 50% of all Cast Members, 57% of senior leaders and one third of executive committee members – including Natacha Rafalski, Présidente of Disneyland Paris.
