DISNEYLAND PARIS CELEBRATES THE 30TH ANNIVERSARY OF ITS OPENING TODAY

Guests are celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the opening of Disneyland Paris. On this occasion, they are welcomed by employees (called Cast Members) who have gathered to form a receiving line on Main Street, U.S.A., at the entrance of Disneyland Park.

In a continued effort to bring magic, happiness and hope to children who need it the most, 270 underprivileged young people from France and Belgium have been invited to celebrate this Anniversary. These young people – who benefit from the support of such charitable organizations as Restos du Cœur, Secours Populaire, Red Cross and Pêcheurs de Lune – were among the first Guests who entered Disneyland Park. Throughout the day, they are going to spend unforgettable and magical moments and discover the new experiences offered as part of the resort’s 30th Anniversary as well.
As Europe’s top tourist destination – with more than 375 million visits since opening – 44% French and 56% international – 84.5 billion euros contributedto the French economy and representing 6% of tourism revenue in France since 19921 – Disneyland Paris is both a can’t-miss tourist destination and a flourishing area of economic and employment development which plays a key role in the growth of the Val d’Europe territory. The success of Disneyland Paris stems from a successful cooperation with local communities, authorities, and real estate land developer EpaFrance, as well as an expanding collaboration with local municipalities.

Among the 16,000 employees who contribute to creating the magic at Disneyland Paris, more than 900 Cast Members celebrate their 30 years of seniority – or even more – in 2022.

Since March 6, Guests have been able to discover the new experiences offered by the resort: new dazzling decorations, Gardens of Wonder comprising 30 unique art pieces crafted by local companies and installed in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle, “Dream… and Shine Brighter!” – a brand-new daytime show in which performers wear iridescent costumes, sixty tasty dishes, a shopping experience featuring more than 350 new exclusive items, and for the first time as part of an outdoor show in a Disney Park: Disney D-Light – a new magical sequence featuring an illuminated drone display, that is presented before Disney Illuminations and that was created in collaboration with Bordeaux-based company Dronisos, an official technology provider.   [Update September 14th, 2022: Disney D-Light was named Best Live Entertainment 2022 by Park World Excellence Awards in London]

Next major step of the resort’s transformation, which will occur this summer: the opening of Avengers Campus this summer at Walt Disney Studios Park.
