Nearly 2,000 locally sourced hand sanitizing gel dispensers available for Guest and Cast Member use throughout the resort
Since July 2020, Disneyland Paris has joined with the PURELL® brand to offer hand sanitising gel, installing nearly 2,000 dispensers across the destination. The addition of PURELL hand sanitisers is part of the resort’s commitment to the well-being of Guests and Cast Members and is one of the numerous, enhanced health and safety measures taken, as recommended, by health authorities. Other measures include a limited number of entries to our Parks each day to ensure physical distancing and enhanced cleaning measures. Additionally, all visitors aged 6 years and over, Cast Members and service providers are required to wear a mask.
“All of us at Disneyland Paris are excited to see our Guests back at the resort soon,” said Laure Albouy, Vice President for Business Strategy and Integration at Disneyland Paris. “The health and safety of our Cast Members and Guests remain our top priority, and our decision to make PURELL hand-sanitisers widely available throughout our resort is an integral part of this continued commitment.”
PURELL hand sanitiser at Disneyland Paris: a locally-made, world-renowned product
All PURELL products provided at the resort are manufactured by GOJO Industries-Europe Ltd, 20 kilometres away from Disneyland Paris in Croissy-Beaubourg. The use of locally-sourced products is a further testament to Disneyland Paris’s commitment to positively contributing to the economic development of local communities.
“The PURELL brand is one of the world’s most trusted brands in hand and surface sanitising. We are proud to supply a quality product to everyone at Disneyland Paris where healthy and safety is a top priority,” said Erik Zimmer, General Manager of GOJO Industries-Europe.
At Disneyland Paris, the diversity of our teams is an engine of creativity, helping us to create exceptional, magical experiences for our guests. We are always listening and learning to push ourselves every day to make Disneyland Paris a more inclusive resort for everyone. One of the ways we do this is through networks called Business Employee Resource Groups (BERG) which bring together Cast Members from all walks of life to provide inspiration, support and engagement within the community.
Last year, Disneyland Paris launched its very own Disney PRIDE BERG, bringing together 11 Cast Members from all divisions and levels of the resort, sponsored by President Natacha Rafalski and Deputy Chief Counsel Gilles Dobelle. The group is tasked with raising awareness of LGBTQ+ topics by organizing and support key actions and events, helping to recognize and value everyone’s differences while fostering a culture of inclusion for fellow Cast Members.
Since its creation, Disney PRIDE has already helped to champion efforts for Disneyland Paris’ first-ever ‘Allies for Diversity Week’ in January and raised awareness of International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia last month. The network is also working closely on Disneyland Paris efforts for Pride Month, including the release of a new Pride anthem online this week to engage guests virtually and an exclusive day-long Cast conference on LGBTQ+ topics later this month.
The Disney PRIDE network is just one aspect of our broader Diversity and Inclusion efforts at Disneyland Paris, alongside impactful policies and ongoing engagement opportunities which continue to expand year after year. In celebration of Pride Month, we’re excited to introduce you to each of the network’s Cast Members who contribute their unique skills and perspectives. Take a look below to see the faces of Disney PRIDE, and stay tuned for more on Pride this month!
Can you introduce yourself and tell us about your role at Disneyland Paris?
Right now, I am preparing for the opening of Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel. I was recruited in Fall 2019 to be Housekeeping Manager. Along with my team, we are in charge of the well-being of our Guests. We prepare their rooms before their arrival and assist them with their wishes right up until their departure. I am like the homemaker with the responsibility of ensuring that our Guests are comfortable and that the team is too. Everything must constantly be cleaned and maintained. I work with my team, hand in hand, as well as with all the hotel teams (Maintenance, Front Office, Concierge, Floral Decorators, etc.) and service providers (linen, amenities, etc.)
Tell us about your career at Disneyland Paris.
I had previously been at the Ritz Hotel in Paris for four and a half years, and I wanted to discover another type of hotel. So, at the end of 1995, I joined the Disneyland Hotel as Assistant Housekeeper and then was appointed Housekeeping Manager of Disney’s Hotel New York in October 1998. I stayed for five years before returning to the Disneyland Hotel, and then in 2019, I transferred again to prepare for the opening of Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel.
Where does your affinity for Disney come from, and more specifically to Disneyland Paris?
I discovered this extraordinary Disney universe! I believe that Walt Disney was a visionary. I discovered multicultural teams and their real open-mindedness.
How did you join the adventure of Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel?
Starting in February 2019, I participated in the rewriting of an operational guide for my profession while preparing the opening of the hotel. It therefore seemed natural for me to want to apply for the Housekeeping Manager role and live this new heroic adventure!
In your opinion, what makes the hotel opening so original and unique?
For the first time since opening in 1992, a Disney hotel has undergone a transformation on a massive scale. We now have a hotel that is unique around the world, immersing guests in the atmosphere of a modern art gallery with more than 350 works of art on display. You can even see Spider-Man! The energy of New York City, the iconic city of the Marvel Universe, is also very much present.
What were your first steps in the hotel?
My first visit to the construction site was in Spring 2019. It had a profound impact on me. Only the walls of Disney’s Hotel New York were left. Disneyland Paris was ready to build a completely new hotel.
Can you introduce us to your team? How many people are on it?
If you include our service providers, we are about 120 people in all.
As a leader, how do you guide your team on this new adventure?
The Cast Members and the Team Leaders wanted to join the hotel, they are very happy and motivated to be here.
For the moment, we are putting everything in place – preparing and distributing Cast costumes, setting up our cleaning service providers, following up on the cleaning of the entire hotel – inside and out – after construction work is completed, getting the linens ready, verifying that everything is ready in the rooms, even down to the soap and stationary. We all have responsibilities, and we move forward together every day.
Do you have any anecdotes to share with us about your work in the hotel?
We have gathered more than 30,000 items for the rooms – mattresses, bed frames, trash cans, coffee machines, hangers, kettles – and 10,000 costumes are in place at the hotel’s Costume Distribution area with fittings in progress.
What do you want to provide the guests who will be staying at the hotel?
Comfort, well-being, happiness and personalized service in an urban and vibrant atmosphere!

Hello! I joined Disneyland Paris two years ago and hold the positions of Director, Hotels & Resorts Product and Franchise Management & Integrated Planning. Prior to that, for more than 20 years I worked around the world for leaders in the travel industry for my two great passions – brands and experiences.
What is your role in the Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel project?
To transform “storytelling” into “story-living” with our teams and partners! We are inventing the Disney hotels of tomorrow, from the positioning of this new hotel to the creation of new experiences, products and services for our guests and Cast Members. We are also helping the Disneyland Paris teams to amplify the Disney stories – here, with Marvel – even further, and to develop even richer universes in which our guests can immerse themselves. Plus, we are reinforcing the relationship between our Resort and all of our counterparts around the world to ensure Disneyland Paris and our new hotel are among the highlights of The Walt Disney Company.
Why stay at a Disney hotel? How does it contribute to the guest experience?
More than ever, Disneyland Paris hotels are more than just a place to sleep. They are the perfect place to enjoy the resort. Beyond the many benefits such as early access to Disney Parks, proximity to Disney Parks and even encounters with Disney Characters, guests staying at these hotels are immersed in thematic and immersive environments beautifully designed by Walt Disney Imagineering.
What makes this hotel unique in the world? What makes the experience unique?
This hotel is unique because of the strength and subtlety of our Disney stories – here, it’s Marvel – and of course it’s also thanks to our Cast Members. The heart of hospitality is the greeting and all the attention we give to our guests, young and young at heart alike! This ambitious project will immerse our guests in the vibrant culture and energy of New York City along with Marvel Super Heroes and their stories.
What does providing a unique experience in the Marvel universe and New York City mean? Do you have any examples?
This is the world’s first hotel dedicated to Marvel artwork. The hotel will feature one of the largest collections of Marvel art in the world, with more than 350 pieces of artwork, including 50 exclusives, never-before-seen ones. More than 110 artists from Marvel Comics, Marvel Studios and more have been assembled for this incredible collection. Guests interested in learning more about the stories behind the artwork are invited to call upon the “Art Guardians,” a selection of specially trained Cast Members with specific knowledge on them. The hotel’s gift shop has been designed to replicate a museum gift shop where guests can purchase beautiful reproductions of some of the Marvel art and even reproductions of the Iron Man statuettes with the armour displayed in the lobby.
Guests will be able to dive right into the action at exclusive and unique locations, such as posing for a selfie with Spider-Man at Super Hero Station. Here, they can also take action shots in one of the many immersive and exclusive settings propelling them into Marvel movies such as Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain Marvel, Iron Man, Ant-Man, The Avengers, Thor, Spider-Man and Doctor Strange.
How much attention to detail is there in the hotel?
This four-star hotel reflects Tony Stark’s sophisticated, upscale New York urban tastes. Each room features Marvel artwork and offers the utmost in comfort, high-tech services and amenities. Guests who choose an Empire State Club room or suite will enjoy additional premium services such as a separate private reception area, complimentary valet parking and access to the Empire State Lounge, an elegant and exclusive hotel-within-a-hotel space. Here, guests can enjoy breakfast, drinks and sweet and savoury snacks all day, or share in delicious experiences such as “The Art of Tea Time.” The suites are themed either to Spider-Man, the Avengers or Marvel Super-Heroes.
Can you tell us a little about the collaboration with the Marvel teams on this project?
This collaboration is incredible because it is built around more than 80 years of Marvel stories! The creative discussions have resulted in a number of new experiences, including “The Jack Kirby Legacy Gallery,” an art exhibit space dedicated to Jack Kirby himself, the “King of Comics.” He was responsible for creating the X-Men, Fantastic Four, Incredible Hulk, Thor and The Avengers. Also, it’s a testament to the close collaboration of the Food & Beverage teams with the Marvel teams on the restaurants and bars, whose experiences are inspired by New York City with a full range of Marvel-themed products for guests of all ages. I’m so excited to be able to go have a cocktail at Skyline Bar – the interiors are directly inspired by Tony Stark and The Avengers headquarters!
This transformation is part of a larger plan to transform the resort’s hotel portfolio. What is the thinking behind it? What are the next steps?
With the highly anticipated opening of Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel, Disneyland Paris is once again reinforcing its commitment to the future, continually investing in the guest experience with a focus on incorporating more Disney stories into its hotels. Along with this hotel, Cars was recently integrated at Disney’s Hotel Santa Fe and Toy Story characters at Disney’s Hotel Cheyenne. Disneyland Paris also just announced the renovation plan to transform the Disneyland Hotel which will reinforce the Hotel’s status as the resort’s flagship location and provide guests with an incredible five-star experience. As we prepare for that transformation, Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel has allowed us to build tomorrow, today. The hotel is a true “laboratory” for the future, and as Walt Disney himself once said: “Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world.”

MORE THAN A HOTEL: A MASTERPIECE
Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel has one of the largest collections of MARVEL artwork in the world, with more than 350 items on display, including 50 exclusive and never-before-seen pieces.
More than 110 artists from MARVEL Comics, MARVEL Studios and more have brought together an incredible collection of contemporary art showcasing the vast scope of the MARVEL Universe including comic book covers, posters, illustrations from films, storyboards, original sketches and more. From France, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom to Argentina, Japan, Canada and the United States, an unparalleled diversity of artistic styles is featured such as classic back-and-white comics, street art, pop art, hyperrealism and technics, including engraved metal and collage art.
The talented European artists responsible for some of the exclusive artwork include:
French MARVEL artist Olivier Coipel, famous for his work on The Avengers, Thor and Spider-Man, created a powerful representation of Thor: God of Thunder in a comic-book style, using an overlap of vibrant red and blue colors highlighting the duality between the Super Hero’s mythological and human sides and using forced perspective to bring out the action.
French MARVEL artist Stéphanie Hans, featured in MARVEL Comics including Asgardians of the Galaxy, Black Bolt and many more, created an impressive realistic portrait of a determined and strong Captain Marvel, depicted in full flight and surrounded by her photonic power.
UK comic book artist Tula Lotay, whose work on MARVEL Comics include stories of powerful Characters like Black Widow, Gamora and Scarlet Witch, created a vibrant and strong comic-book style portrait of Black Widow whose black costume contrasts with the almost expressionistic brightly colored background.
Italian designers and twin brothers Van Orton, have created incredible pop art and almost neon-like portraits of Hulk, Captain America, Black Panther and Captain Marvel using bright and vibrant colors.
UK artist Liam Brazier, known for his geometric reinterpretations of iconic characters, created several pieces for the hotel including heroic contemporary portraits of Captain America, Thor and Hulk using saturated and bright colors as well as lines highlighting the dynamism of the Super Heroes’ poses.
Spanish artist Carlos Gomezcreated huge backlit black and white comic panels that greet Guests as they enter the lobby, depicting the exciting and dynamic story of the Avengers uniting in New York City in an inclusive way, to be understandable by everyone even with no dialogue.
Disney Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel also includes a space dedicated to temporary art exhibitions, The Jack Kirby LegacyGallery, that showcases artworks for limited periods. This area also offers a permanent exhibition dedicated to Jack Kirby himself – the “The King of Comics” – with 21 comic book covers drawn by this legend. Natalia, can you introduce yourself and explain your background?
Yes, of course! I am from Russia, and after my studies I travelled quite a bit as a professional dancer. When I arrived in Paris, I auditioned for Disneyland Paris and I was accepted! I was really lucky; I met a lot of wonderful people.
My career at Disneyland Paris started in 2002 as a Dancer on shows like The Tarzan Encounter. Afterwards, I became a Dance Captain and then a Choreographer.
I’ve been a Show Director at Disneyland Paris for 5 years now, and today, I’m lucky enough to work on the Star Wars Legends Selfie Spot.
What can our Guests expect at Videopolis when it reopens?
At Videopolis, guests can for the first time meet many characters from the Star Wars galaxy and take their best selfie with them!
Everything is done so that the Guests have the impression they’ll be arriving on Tatooine. The scenography allows for complete immersion thanks to the lighting adapted to the characters, depending on whether they are on the dark or the light side of the force! This is also achieved through the backdrops and set elements that create the scene, and the visual result is a true success.
We completed this project in only 3 months, and we are very proud to be able to offer this new experience. So, if you want to meet Chewbacca, Rey, Phasma, Boba Fett and many more… May the force be with you!
How did the collaboration with the Star Wars franchise teams go on this project?
Working with the Star Wars franchise teams was very rewarding, especially because I’ve already worked with them since the first Season of the Force (2017).
They work directly with the movie production company Lucasfilm Ltd., so they are the best people to help us with this project. I’ve been talking with the Star Wars franchise teams in an effort to stay true to their vision and especially to understand all of the powers of The Force!
This month, Disneyland Paris joined in a global effort to recognize, engage and raise awareness on LGBTQ+ topics as part of the resort’s ongoing efforts to foster a culture of inclusion, where everyone is welcome.
We kicked things off on June 1 with a Pride dance challenge, encouraging guests, fans and even Cast Members to submit their own attempts at recreating a choreographed video to show their support for the LGBTQ+ community. The exclusive new song, called ‘Around the World’, had everyone on their feet all month long.
With the release of Rainbow Disney Collection merchandise across the resort and on shopDisney.com, guests had yet another chance to show their support in style, from spirit jerseys to backpacks to pins and more. In recognition of the collection, The Walt Disney Company is donating funds to organizations that support LGBTQ+ communities including MAG Jeunes LGBT in France, Diversity Role Models in the UK, ARELAS in Spain, diversity München e.V. in Germany and Famiglie Arcobaleno in Italy.
Pride Month was also an opportunity to introduce our Disney PRIDE BERG – short for ‘Business Employee Resource Group’ – with an incredible panel of Cast Members from all divisions and levels of the company who are working every day to raise awareness of LGBTQ+ topics by organizing and support key actions and events.
Our biggest activation of all was a virtual Pride Conference yesterday which brought together Cast Members, associations and members of the LGBTQ+ community to talk about themes of same-sex families, allyship, discrimination and gender identity. Like our International Women’s Day Conference in March, this exclusive event was a key opportunity to hear new voices and come together for a day of discussion, learning and positive momentum for the future. This year’s event featured many French associations contributing their valuable insights such as MAG Jeunes LGBT, ADFH, Association Contact, Le collectif Famille.s, Respect Zone and ACVS-49.
To further engage with communities, Disneyland Paris invited 40 members from MAG Jeunes LGBT to experience a day of magic at the parks last week, followed by an opportunity to listen and learn along with our Cast Members during the Pride Conference.
Guests at Disneyland Park also had a fun surprise yesterday when Mickey and Minnie stepped out in colorful costumes to the theme of “Around the World,” dancing and celebrating through the park for an epic conclusion to the month.
While today is the last day of Pride Month celebrations around the world, Disneyland Paris’ commitment to diversity and inclusion continues all year round with impactful initiatives and events to engage Cast Members, guests and communities.
