Focus on… the recycling of our operational costumes

As Europe’s top tourist destination, we are aware of our environmental responsibilities. Reducing our waste is at the heart of our actions for the environment, and this translates into concrete actions aimed at recycling and recovering our waste on a daily basis, such as the recycling of our operational costumes.

Many of our 17,000 Cast Members work in operations. This activity involves the use of many costumes, which represents a real challenge in terms of waste management. To minimize our environmental footprint, we have implemented a recycling policy to reuse the fabrics of worn and damaged costumes to give them a second life. Recycling bins have been set up backstage to send the costumes to local ESATs (Etablissement et Service d’Aide par le Travail), where they are then transformed into insulating felt.

This initiative represents an annual recycling target of 50,000 costume pieces. Other complementary projects are being studied to pursue this approach.
