For more than thirty years now, Disneyland Paris has been joining forces with Fondation des Hôpitaux as part of the Pièces Jaunes campaign. This year again, the resort has given hundreds of hospitalized children and teenagers the opportunity to experience moments of escapism and magic with their families along with hospital staff members, Brigitte Macron, President of Fondation des Hôpitaux, Didier Deschamps, Ambassador of the 2024 Pièces Jaunes campaign and Anne Barrère, Vice President of Fondation des Hôpitaux.
Coming from the Paris region, Reims, Lyon and even Bordeaux, the young invitees got to discover the TOGETHER: a Pixar Musical Adventure show, which brought them on an immersive and wondrous journey. They also got to meet their favorite characters and enjoy a host of attractions alongside Disney VoluntEARS who accompanied them throughout the day.
“It is with great pride that we are supporting the Pièces Jaunes campaign in partnership with Fondation des Hôpitaux for the 31st year in a row,” said Natacha Rafalski, Présidente of Disneyland Paris. She notably highlighted the resort’s unwavering commitment to improving the lives of hospitalized children by giving them the opportunity to spend magical and joyful moments, “Our greatest satisfaction is seeing the happiness on the faces of these children and their families as they leave their everyday lives behind to immerse themselves into the magical atmosphere of our parks.”
“It’s always a great joy for the teams at the Fondation des Hôpitaux to see the Disney magic in the eyes of hundreds of children in hospital every year,” adds Anne Barrère, Vice-President of the Fondation des Hôpitaux. “This year, once again 500 children and their families were able to enjoy a magical day and an enchanted moment offered by Disneyland Paris! A huge thank you to Disneyland Paris, a long-standing partner of the Pièces Jaunes, which is renewing its invaluable support for the operation for the 31st year in a row”.
This endeavor continues until February 4, as tote bags and pins that are themed to the Pièces Jaunes campaign have been brought to life by Disneyland Paris teams and made available for purchase in the World of Disney (Disney Village) and Flora’s Unique Boutique (Main Street, U.S.A. – Disneyland Park) shops. All proceeds will be donated to the Foundation to support ongoing projects.
Guests and Cast Members are also invited to contribute to the well-being of children and teenagers in hospital thanks to the piggy banks located throughout the resort, on stage and backstage, and Disneyland Paris is committed to doubling the amount donated. The number of coins thrown into the fountains of the parks will also be donated.
These initiatives are part of many actions throughout the year – and for more than 30 years – toward children and families who need it most, including the support of Disney VoluntEARS, Cast Members who volunteer for philanthropic actions in our parks. Since 1991, more than 40,000 hospitalized children have been visited by Disney Characters and VoluntEARS.
