DISNEYLAND PARIS 30TH ANNIVERSARY:
THE START OF A NEW ERA

Disneyland Paris – which opened its doors on April 12, 1992 – will kick off its 30th Anniversary celebration in just under a month, on March 6, 2022. This celebration is a unique opportunity to highlight the ongoing transformation of the resort as it takes its next step in building the future, driven by the ambition to offer even more immersive experiences and to inspire guests of all ages to dream even bigger. The anniversary is also a chance to reflect on Disneyland Paris’ contribution to French tourism over the years.

Over the past three decades, Disneyland Paris has offered a unique and memorable experience for its Guests and employees. By constantly looking to the future and innovating creative storytelling, Disneyland Paris continues to transform around four key commitments, detailed below and in 30th Anniversary press kit.

“With our 30th Anniversary, we enter a new era which will push the boundaries of creativity and innovation to accelerate our transformation at every level – from the addition of new digital tools to the reinvention of our hotels and the upcoming launch of new immersive experiences.” said Natacha Rafalski, Présidente of Disneyland Paris

Transforming the Guest experience: To deliver an unparalleled Guest experience, 2 billion euros are being invested in the most ambitious transformation of Disneyland Paris since its opening, including an expansion plan for Walt Disney Studios Park with three new themed areas, starting with Avengers Campus when it opens this summer. From new services offering more convenience and more personalized experiences, to the reinvention of the hotel experience, to new offerings across the resort – so much awaits for our future Guests. The 30th Anniversary of Disneyland Paris represents a decisive turning point in its history and is an opportunity to deliver an entirely new level of Guest experiences. The celebration will feature many new experiences across the resort, including sparkling new decorations, the Gardens of Wonder with 30 never-before-seen works of art in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle, a new daytime show with iridescent costumes and a nighttime pre-show, as well as 60 tasty dishes and a shopping experience with more than 350 exclusive products.

Driving sustainable growth of the area: As Europe’s top tourist destination – with more than 375 million visits since opening – 44% French and 56% international – 84.5 billion euros contributed to the French economy and representing 6% of tourism revenue in France since 19921 – Disneyland Paris is both a can’t-miss tourist destination and a flourishing area of economic and employment development which plays a key role in the growth of the Val d’Europe territory. With 9.1 billion euros in investment since 1992, the success of Disneyland Paris stems from a successful cooperation with local communities, authorities, and real estate land developer EpaFrance, as well as an expanding collaboration with local municipalities.

Expanding engagements with employees: Our 16,000 employees, known as Cast Members, are at the heart of the magic at Disneyland Paris and reflect the diversity of our Guests. The resort offers more than 500 different job types, and our Cast Members represent 124 different nationalities, speak 20 languages and 84% have permanent contracts (CDI)2. Disneyland Paris places the professional development and recognition of its Cast Members at the core of its priorities. In 2022, during our 30th Anniversary celebration, more than 900 Cast Members will celebrate 30 or more years of seniority at Disneyland Paris, demonstrating a legacy of Cast loyalty and exceptional service to our Guests.

Inspiring generations to shape the future: Disneyland Paris is conscious of its responsibilities to the community and has made social and environmental commitments a core focus with three main areas of action: philanthropic initiatives, inclusive programs, and ever-evolving practices for sustainable development. Disneyland Paris also has more than 1,000 Disney VoluntEARS, employees who donate their free time every year to bring joy, comfort and hope to those who need it the most. The resort has hosted more than 300,000 underprivileged children and granted more than 20,000 children’s wishes since 1992, as well as 40,000 visits to sick children in 500 hospitals in France and Europe since 1991.

In line with The Walt Disney Company’s environmental goals, Disneyland Paris also has a robust environmental protection strategy based on impactful initiatives, including the construction of one of Europe’s largest solar canopy plants in the Guest parking lot, making it possible to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Val d’Europe by 890 tons of CO2 per year and generate enough renewable energy to cover the equivalent of 17% of the resort’s current electricity consumption.
