Marvel Art Atelier was held at Disney Hotel New York® – The Art of Marvel , the only hotel in the world dedicated to Marvel art! from 21 to 28 June 2024. A programme for artists aspiring to work for Marvel. This year, 5 talented young artists spent a week training at our destination under the tutelage of renowned MARVEL artists from all over the world. Guests, fans and Cast Members were also able to take part.
During this second edition of the Marvel Art Atelier, Adam Kubert (USA), Sara Pichelli (Italy), Carmen Carnero (Spain) and Olivier Coipel (France) passed on to aspiring artists all the tricks and techniques they use to bring Marvel Super Heroes to life.
On Friday 28 June, around 80 people and Disneyland Paris 2024-2025 Ambassadors Jose and Dylan had the opportunity to take part in this programme and unleash their creative powers at an exclusive workshop.
From the hand of Brian Crosby (Executive, Marvel Experiences Development), visitors learned how to draw two iconic Marvel Super Heroes, Spider-Man and Groot, during a “How to draw “ Masterclass accessible to all levels.
To round off the event, participants were able to attend the opening of the brand new Jack Kirby Legacy Gallery exhibition, featuring some of the finest work by this new generation of artists.
In the presence of C.B. Cebulski, editor-in-chief of Marvel Comics, and in a celebratory atmosphere, the name of the winning artist of the 2024 edition of the Marvel Art Atelier was revealed! Zulema Scotto Lavina, an Italian artist, has won the opportunity to create the cover for a future Marvel comic book!
