Pride Month is an opportunity to recognize, celebrate and elevate diverse voices and perspectives from across the LGBTQIA+ community. At Disneyland Paris, this is an important moment in ongoing efforts to place equity and inclusion at the core of everything we do, creating a welcoming environment for guests from all over the world and encouraging our Cast Members to be their authentic selves.
This year – with the return of Disneyland Paris Pride at Walt Disney Studios Park – guests and Cast came together for an unforgettable night featuring live performances by MIKA, Bilal Hassani and Becky Hill, the return of Disney’s Colorful Pride Parade, plus memorable moments with Disney characters and attraction access. The event also included experiential activations with Corporate Alliance partners RhinoShield, Coca-Cola and Deezer for some added fun. Disneyland Paris welcomed invitees from several French LGBTQIA+ associations to experience a day in the parks and to join in Disney’s Colorful Pride Parade that evening, as part of the resort’s commitment to meaningful community engagement.
Disneyland Paris Pride: The Cast Event returned this year as well, inviting Cast to enjoy an exclusive day of inspiring conversations as teams from across the resort and around the world at Disney shared their experiences and vision for the future. The event ended on a high note with a Cast-only talent show to celebrate diversity at Disneyland Paris. This is just one of many ways throughout the year that we engage with Cast Members on inclusion. Our Disney PRIDE BERG – a business employee resource group made up of Cast from different resort roles – identifies new opportunities to recognize and support the LGBTQIA+ community all year long.
As part of an ongoing dialogue with LGBTQIA+ community members and allies, Disneyland Paris reached out to Cast Members across the resort and invited them to share their unique stories and experiences. The resulting video spotlights a few of the many diverse perspectives represented by our Cast Members and is one of several initiatives to seek out and amplify new voices. We are always striving to create a culture of inclusion, with ideas and contributions from our diverse workforce that help us grow. Watch the video below and visit the Disneyland Paris YouTube Channel for more LGBTQIA+ content this month and year-round.
One way that Disneyland Paris guests like to express their pride is by dressing up in their favorite styles while enjoying a day in the parks. We recently launched the Disney Pride Collection, a series of colorful products dreamed up by LGBTQIA+ employees. The first products in the collection can now be found at Les Légendes d’Hollywood store in Walt Disney Studios Park. The Walt Disney Company will be donating all of our profits from the Disney Pride Collection sales now through June 30, 2022 to support LGBTQIA+ youth and families. Learn more at TWDCPrideCollection.com. The resort has also unveiled a brand-new Pride Shot by Disney PhotoPass[1] now available throughout the month of June in front of Plaza Gardens Restaurant at Disneyland Park and several new themed designs in the Disney Fashion store personalization corner at Disney Village.
Disneyland Paris is always exploring new opportunities to engage with guests, Cast and community members as part of its overarching diversity and inclusion strategy at all levels of the company. To learn more, please visit Our Commitments.
