On 15 and 16 October 2016, Disneyland Paris hosted the French Paralympic delegation for a family week-end of relaxation. The athletes present and their families enjoyed the various attractions and then took part in a pre-parade to celebrate their performances during the 2016 Paralympic games of Rio.
This event in our resort illustrates the values Disneyland Paris and the French Paralympic and Sports Delegation share. This was clear when the first Half-Marathon Weekend at Disneyland Paris – Val d’Europe was held from 22 to 25 September, when nearly 15 000 participants were present, including a great number of runners with disabilities.
At Disneyland Paris we have always been keen to improve accessibility, in order to offer all our guests an unforgettable experience.
Since the Disneyland Park opened in 1992, accessibility has been at the heart of the company’s priorities. In order to guarantee a quality experience to all its guests, Disneyland Paris constantly trains those employees who are in contact with guests to be at ease when dealing with those who have a handicap. In following the same objective, a great number of measures have been implemented to help persons with a handicap move about the parks. The priority cards for access to the attractions, or the accessibility guides made available to guests with disabilities are but some examples.
