On 24 February, Disneyland Paris, the mayor of Paris and the Île-de-France region officially unveiled the #ParisIsWaitingForYou campaign at the Eiffel Tower in their first joint campaign to promote tourism. The BETC agency designed this original campaign that shows the splendor of famous sites in Paris and its region, as well as symbols of gastronomy, of culture and of art including the Galeries Lafayette or the Château de Fontainebleau. Famous Disney characters such as Mickey, Minnie, Cinderella or Rémy invite guests from all over Europe to come discover the magic of the City of Light.
The aura of Paris and its region have contributed to the success of Disneyland Paris for 25 years, and Europe’s number one tourist destination is part of the tourism appeal of the Île-de-France region. This unprecedented campaign celebrates 25 years of the close links Disneyland Paris has with France, alongside the City of Paris and the Île-de-France region.
This is a strong symbol of the strength and lasting character of the relationship that these key players in the tourism industry share in France and in Europe.
The campaign is also the result of a special collaboration with Chef Hélène Darroze, the Galeries Lafayette and the Château de Fontainebleau, who agreed to lend their images to support the efforts of the City of Paris and the Île-de-France Region to keep Paris attractive and maintain its reputation throughout France and Europe. Thanks to well-known partners such as Facebook, JC Decaux, SNCB, Hertz, the Comité Régional de Tourisme and Atout France this campaign will be widely distributed across France and Europe.
“As the leader of tourism in Europe, we have a responsibility and we share an ambition with our partners, to promote the cultural, gastronomic and architectural traditions of Paris and the Île-de-France, so that tourists continue to be enchanted.” — Catherine Powell, Présidente of Euro Disney S.A.S.
“Disneyland Paris, France’s number one private tourist destination plays an important role in drawing tourists to Paris. The resort is a major economic player in our area, as it generates more than 55, 000 direct, indirect and induced jobs each year. For the 25th Anniversary of this partnership, I am happy to reaffirm the attachment of the City of Paris to this world-class theme park.” — Anne Hidalgo, Mayor of Paris.
“The Ile-de-France Region is fully committed to bring tourists back to our region. We have three guideposts: promoting our destination, improving our hospitality, providing more services to guests, and, lastly, increasing security. This is a major stake for attractiveness and employment in Ile-de-France.” — Valérie Pécresse, President of the Île-de-France region.
