The Disneyland® Paris mobile application, launched in 2010, has just undergone a complete refresh, to improve the design, Guest experience, and technical performance for both iOS and Android users. Disneyland Paris Digital and Technology teams worked with Disney Parks & Resorts Digital on this renovation for over a year, to meet our Guests’ expectations and renew Disneyland® Paris’s position as an industry leader in the mobile space.
The Disneyland Paris application allows users to explore the parks interactively, locating themselves and points of interest around them via geolocation. They can consult wait times for their favourite attractions, view schedules for shows and parades, discover special events, see opening hours as far as 40 days in advance, and call directly to book a restaurant or buy tickets. This application is a useful tool to enhance Guests’ visits to our parks, hotels, and Disney Village. The previous version of the app was downloaded by more than 3 million users since it was created 5 years ago.
The Paris and U.S. teams worked together to evolve the platform, originally developed in the U.S., for Paris technologies and European users. The new application was announced early October and has already been consulted more than 320 000 times. In addition to the new, contemporary design, the application is faster, more fluid, and adapts automatically to all mobile devices for an easier, user-friendly experience: if the device, for example, cannot gain access to a network, a message will automatically warn the Guest instead of leaving them in doubt.
“We have made a thorough improvement of the application and left out certain features that users hardly, if ever, used. We now have a state-of-the-art application on a lasting platform that in the future will be easy to update. We already have a number of ideas. Our aim is to constantly improve Guests’ access to information, for that is one of the keys to the success of their visit”, as confides Virgile Samper, in charge of the project.
