Billy Bob’s Country Western Saloon opened its doors at 10:30a.m. on Tuesday to welcome 250 children and their families for a special day. The Community Centres of Social Action (CCAS) of the towns of Coupvray, Magny-le-Hongre, Serris and Bailly-Romainvilliers worked hand in hand with the Corporate Citizenship service at Disneyland Paris to make sure even underprivileged persons may share the magic of Christmas. This Christmas brunch was the culmination of a year during which over 1000 solidarity operations took place with the support of Europe’s number one tourist destination.
Elected officials from the respective municipalities were also present, thus underlining the strong cooperation between their towns and Disneyland Paris when showing citizen commitment. The role of Disney VoluntEARS in primary schools to create awareness of lasting development and the need to adopt a healthy type of living is always largely successful. The elected officials recognise the positive impact these activities have on the residents of their municipalities, children and adults alike.
“Disneyland Paris and the Disney VoluntEARS fully participate in the life of our community. They are present every year for the 10 km of the town we organise to benefit the association ELA. They are a true force of synergy in the region and we are particularly proud to work with them on these types of events.” — Jacqueline Mikaelian, municipal councilor in charge of protocole at the de la mairie de Magny-le-Hongre
Thierry Cerri, mayor of Coupvray, also spoke of the close links between his municipality and the family of Disney VoluntEARS. He feels they have a strong imprint on the territory. More than 40 children from the CCAS of Coupvray were present for this Christmas brunch.
