In 1991, Sabine Marcon had the immense honour of being named the first Ambassador of Disneyland®Paris (Euro Disney Resort at the time). On 12 April 1992, she inaugurated our destination next to Michael Eisner – then CEO of The Walt Disney Company-, Roy Disney and thousands of Cast Members who took part in this new adventure. Sabine was back recently to our destination and was keen on meeting Cast Members and the new Ambassadors with whom she shared many unforgettable souvenirs.
Today Sabine is a translator and lives in Manilla in the Philippines with her family. Obviously she doe s not have many opportunities to come back to France. Yet, almost twenty five years after having been the first Disneyland Paris Ambassador (at the time there was only one who was named for one year), she took advantage of a visit to our destination with her family to meet the Disneyland Paris Ambassadors that followed in her footsteps. She has a message for all Cast Members.
“After all these years it is still very special to come back to Disneyland Paris. The Cast Members continue to smile and the park is still one of the most beautiful I have ever visited. What has really surprised me is the vegetation and how it has developed! I still remember how the trees were so thin at opening. I want to congratulate the Nature and Environment team that cares for this incredible garden! I will always remember the opening of Disneyland Paris on 12 April 1992 and the wonderful memory on Main Street, U.S.A where the Cast Members had all gathered for a memorable photograph. As we get near the 25th anniversary, I want to congratulate all Cast Members, those who were here at opening and all those who have joined the teams since. You do a wonderful job with our guests and I can see it today with my family.”
