In 2015, Disneyland Paris launched an ambitious renovation plan for its iconic attractions, to continue improving the quality of the guest experience for its 25th Anniversary. The success of this programme relies on the knowledge, commitment, and creativity of over 15,000 Cast Members. They are the ones that, day after day, on stage or backstage, bring alive the magic for millions of guests each year. ENHANCE, RENOVATE, AND MODERNISE This renovation plan, launched in 2015, aims to make iconic attractions shine more brightly than ever and to enhance the guest experience. Every detail has been revisited in order to reinvent the guest experience and make the resort more magical than ever, from examining comfort and technical aspects to updating software and special effects. After several months of renovation, cruises once more set sail in “it’s a small world” in December 2015. The attraction now features bigger and brighter colours, as well as brand new dolls and costumes. Peter Pan’s Flight, a true emblem of Disney parks, reopened its doors in summer 2016 after four months of renovation. Following a total renovation of its facade and roofs, new lighting and blacklights were installed using LED fixtures, bringing the attraction back to its original splendour. Adventure Isle got its turn in September 2016, revealing the results of its eight-month renovation. Beyond enhancement works, this attraction also received upgrades in terms of accessibility and safety. In Frontierland, too, things are changing: the iconic Big Thunder Mountain was renovated in 2016, including a deep cleaning and repainting of the mountain itself and a draining of the basin. Since March 25th, Star Tours: The Adventures Continue has been proposing a brand new experience in digital 3D, featuring top-of-the-line technology. Each ride is different for guests, as stories and journeys are randomly selected with each new visit to the attraction. Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain opened on May 7th. This iconic Discoveryland attraction brings passengers on a new adventure set in the world of Star Wars, aboard brand new vehicles featuring new safety harnesses which improve guest comfort. There’s still more to come with this renovation plan, as Pirates of the Caribbean is set to receive brand new latest-generation audio-animatronics, to give the vignettes a more lifelike effect. Characters from the successful film franchise – such as Jack Sparrow himself – will also be brought into this iconic ride at Disneyland Park, from July 24th. These new additions all help to illustrate the savoir faire of Disneyland Paris when it comes to being innovative and creative, and offering immersive and surprising experiences!
