On July 1st, The Forest of Enchantment: a Disney musical adventure began its second season, once again taking audiences on a magical journey. Its triumphant return to the stage is part of the company’s strategy to bring live shows back to center stage at Disneyland Paris. Shows are at the heart of the values of Disneyland Paris. Since 2015, stages around the resort have been welcoming new shows to broaden the variety of entertainment available to our guests. After the huge popularity of Frozen, success snowballed at the Disneyland Park with the debut of Frozen Sing-Along, an interactive show at The Chaparral Theater featuring stars from the beloved movie. This production was hugely successful, welcoming more than 2 million spectators over its first season alone! The stage at Videopolis, which received infrastructure renovations recently, invites young Star Wars fans to take part in the Jedi Training Academy. This participation-based show gives children aged 7 to 12 the opportunity to receive training from a Master Jedi and to interact with favourite characters from the saga. In early 2017, the resort’s Star Wars experience became even more immersive thanks to the opening of Season of the Force at Walt Disney Studios Park. After Frozen Sing-Along, the stage of The Chapparal Theater next welcomed a brand new original creation in the spring/summer season of 2016: The Forest of Enchantment: a Disney musical adventure. This show brings together live singing with dancing and acrobatics, and was a huge success! Its second season has just opened with brand new choreography by Martin Ysabart and new design and visual elements for an even more fantastic experience. In Walt Disney Studios Park, Mickey and the Magician premiered on July 2, 2016 at Animagique® Theater. Bringing together exciting musical numbers with thrilling illusions, this hit show is a Broadway-style production that all ages will love. In November 2016, Mickey and the Magician won a Brass Ring Award from the IAAPA for best live production in the special category of receiving over 3 million spectators per year. For Louisa Kriouche, director of this show, the keys to a successful show at Disneyland Paris are “a good story, catchy music, well-known songs, top-quality artists… and it should get certain feelings across, to bring the audience on a journey. ” Show is a huge part of our 25th Anniversary celebrations, kicked off last March. Guests asked for more shows, and we delivered, with newcomers including a brand new parade, Disney Stars on Parade, two never-before-seen shows on the Royal Castle Stage, and the Disney Illuminations nighttime spectacular.
