On July 18, Real Estate Development by Euro Disney and GA Smart Building laid the first brick for the Nala building, the first new building in the Disneyland Parks backstage since 2002! The core of the company’s business is continually evolving: new shows and entertainment and innovative attractions regularly pop up around Disneyland Paris. To ensure the best possible operational conditions for this tourist destination, as well as to anticipate Cast Members’ needs, Real Estate Development by Euro Disney has been updating the way the Euro Disney business campus is organised since 2010 – and will continue to do so for the next 20 years. Val d’Europe’s administrative zone was part of this plan, as it freed up space around the parks to create more space for operational functions. “Beginning work on the Nala building is the outcome of an unprecedented project, a new building in our backstage, and the beginning of a new step in our master plan: reorganising our business campus so it’s more like a city. In the long-term, this ambitious project is designed to curb real estate costs and to invest across the Val d’Europe area, including the backstage of the parks. It is also in response to the evolving needs of our business, as we are offering more shows and new professional tools in order to improve the guest experience.” .” shared Francis Borezée, Vice President real estate and tourism development at Euro Disney. The backstage of these theme parks currently includes 200,000 m² in real estate property, designed to welcome 15,000 Cast Members who fill 500 different career roles. Nala will be home to the Show department when it opens it doors at the end of 2018. The building’s 10,000 m² will have spaces for offices and activities alike, and will be ready for use immediately. It was designed to reduce real estate costs, and to improve the work environment for Show teams. On the ground floor, operational teams will have changing rooms, makeup and hair rooms, a practice studio, and a costuming area spanning over 7,000 m². The first floor will be home to administrative offices and a 1,700 m² sewing workshop. “After the arrival of Ludendo in the Business Park, we were delighted to be chosen for the construction of a new building in the park backstage, and we can’t wait to see this top-level environmental project take shape before our eyes. Thanks to the unique industrial approach which sets us apart, Nala’s 10,000 m² will be ready in less than a year.” stated Sébastien Matty, Chairman of GA Smart Building. In accordance with thermal regulations (RT 2012), this environmentally-friendly will have powerful equipment including a rainwater collecting system for the bathrooms, solar panels, and a green roof.
