There are the attractions, the shows and, of course, the Disney characters. For a great number of our guests, adults or children alike, the encounter with their favourite heroes is a key element in their experience at Disneyland® Paris, and has a great influence on their satisfaction. For a number of years the company has reinforced the offer in this field by introducing new characters and offering a greater number of opportunities for privileged encounters in quality areas specially designed for them. Let us take a look at this far-reaching program that improves the park experience and is a source of joy for families.
Given his success since his arrival at Disneyland® Paris to meet his fans, Spider-Man is still present in the Backlot area of Walt Disney Studios Park. The famous hero, created by Marvel, has been here since 19 April, in a setting especially created for this adventure, where guests can pose with him for the front cover of the Daily Bugle. This ephemeral encounter has been such a success* that it has been extended. Show Director Katy Harris, who made it possible, could not be happier.
“I am extremely satisfied. Spider-Man is a huge success with all the family. I love to see the children in their costumes, enthralled by their hero, and the parents just as enthusiastic who live their childhood memories! The design and the story of this experience were developed in partnership with The Walt Disney Company and Marvel and it has been a real success. Our aim was to present Spider-Man in his environment, but with a unique story for Walt Disney Studios Park. It was important for me to associate a mind-blowing setting and an exceptional, top-quality experience for our guests, who share a privileged moment with Spider-Man.”
Spider-Man is not the only new arrival at the casting service at Disneyland Paris, where heroes and Disney Villains are present for a total of 55 000 hours per year: Anna for example and her sister Elsa –the famous Frozen-, the ones little girls most ask for, will be present at the Princess Pavilion for the Christmas holidays. Since 2011, this new attraction located in Fantasyland has allowed guests of all ages to meet their favourite princesses in a covered environment, exquisitely decorated with enchanting details. In the same land, “Meet Mickey Mouse”, created in 2012, offers the mouse’s fans the possibility to meet him privately all day long, directly in his theater dressing-room. This Christmas 2014 the princess from the movie “Brave” will appear for the first time in the Disneyland Park in a dedicated environment. And as of 6 December, a new character offer will be made during the Extra Magic Hours reserved for Disney hotel clients.
In line with these many novelties, the teams from Entertainment continue to work on a global improvement of animation, in particular during the seasons that offer wonderful opportunities. There exist today close to 300 opportunities to meet a Disney character! Disney’s Halloween Festival and Swing into Spring, launched in the spring of 2014, helped offer new encounters and unforgettable moments to our guests by staging the characters in the middle of the parks. This strategy has borne results since the guest satisfaction rate has gone up between 7 points (Christmas) and 17 points (Halloween) in two years.
